Let’s Play!

As part of the Laboratoire JE[U]S organised by Agrégat, Intervals Collective presented the participatory project "Let's play!". Visitors and members of Longueuil's communities are invited to join us in playing different kinds of social games. By playing, we intend to bring together different groups of people to pause, have fun, reflect and interact with each other, allowing us to reinterpret the world and imagine new possibilities. Play is an essential aspect of human social organisation, involving people of different ages, groups and backgrounds. Rather than seeing the future as a horizon where our problems will be solved by technocratic solutions, this exercise suggests a potential for de-escalating acceleration by playing with others. Play, like art, seems to include a principle of uncertainty. We see games as a meaningful way to interact and playfully create a connection with the Longueuil community.
