Phase #2 : 18 et 25 mai 2024

Autour de la table est une série d’événements participatifs qui rassemble le travail d’artistes et de professionnels de l’alimentation issus de diverses communautés, intéressés par l’alimentation et ses enjeux éthiques, géopolitiques, sociologiques, humains, identitaires, historiques et actuels. Dans une perspective inclusive et décoloniale, ce projet s’inscrit dans la programmation du laboratoire de La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse.

Pour cette deuxième phase du projet, le collectif organise une série d’événements les 18 et 25 mai. Après un menu à quatre plats (entrée, plat principal, dessert et boisson), les artistes proposeront des présentations et des ateliers autour de la nourriture.

Les artistes participants incluent Tanha Gomes & Sandrine Côté, Victor Vargas, Farzaneh Rezaei, Carla Rangel, Salima Punjani, Maria Hoyos,  Miwa Kojima (courier-art), et les professionnelles de l’alimentation Mariana Martin (Carlota Boulangerie Mexicaine) et Cacao Révolution

Phase #2: 18 & 25 May 2024

Around the Table is a series of participatory events that brings together the work of artists and food professionals from diverse communities, interested in food and its ethical, geopolitical, sociological, human, identity-related, historical and current issues. Taking an inclusive and decolonial perspective, this project is part of La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse’s Laboratory Programming.

In this second phase of the project, the collective will be organising a series of events on 18 and 25 May. Following a four-course menu (starter, main dish, dessert and drink), the artists will be offering presentations and workshops relating to food.

Participating artists include Tanha Gomes & Sandrine Côté, Victor Vargas, Farzaneh Rezaei, Carla Rangel, Salima Punjani, Maria Hoyos, Miwa Kojima (courier-art), and food professionals Mariana Martin (Carlota Boulangerie Mexicaine) and Cacao Révolution.

Phase #1 : 16, 17, 24 FÉVRIER 2024

Autour de la table, un événement participatif organisé par le Collectif Intervals avec la contribution de La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse, explore des enjeux alimentaires de manière inclusive et décoloniale.

Au cours de la phase 1, le Collectif Intervals collabore avec courier-art (Noriko Tanaka et Miwa Kojima) pour présenter Happy Hour, un événement artistique socialement engagé initié par courier-art et l’artiste Mica Funaki en 2000. Entre les années 2000 et 2005, le projet Happy Hour a été présenté dans quatre pays différents, recueillant les récits de personnes sur des moments de bonheur. Après un intervalle de près de vingt ans, le projet se réactive à La Centrale Galerie Powerhouse, invitant les participant·e·s à partager des souvenirs heureux impliquant la nourriture autour de thé et de curry japonais.

Around the Table, a participatory event organized by the Intervals Collective with the contribution of La Centrale galerie Powerhouse, explores food-related issues in an inclusive and decolonial manner.

In Phase 1, the Intervals Collective collaborates with courier-art (Noriko Tanaka and Miwa Kojima) to present Happy Hour, a socially engaged artistic event initiated by courier-art and artist Mica Funaki in 2000. Between 2000 and 2005, the Happy Hour project was featured in four different countries, collecting people’s stories of moments of happiness. After an interval of nearly twenty years, the project is revisited at La Centrale galerie Powerhouse, inviting participants to share joyful memories involving food over tea and Japanese curry.
